My work capitalizes on the creative potential of uncertainty, using the medium of collage to build precarious visual moments suffused with whimsy and joy. Hand-painted paper serves as a foundation from which shapes are cut, selected, reworked, and sometimes discarded. The studio is transformed into an ecosystem of possibility as the resulting menageries of forms and debris are recycled and incorporated, altered with crayon and pencil, and fixed in a fleeting moment of balance. The resulting conglomerations hover between resolution and discombobulation, records of a process fueled by intuition yet driven by a life-long study of the rhythms of color and composition.
